The Templists

The Templists

The Templists were a theocratic order forged in an age of expansion and uncertainty, defined by absolute devotion to faith above all else—power, wealth, or even survival. Their creed, “For God and Country,” was not merely a slogan but a law that governed every decision, sacrifice, and conquest. To the Templists, religion was the ultimate source of legitimacy; governance, military action, and societal structure all flowed from divine mandate. They believed order could only exist when humanity aligned itself wholly with sacred doctrine, and they pursued this belief with unwavering discipline and zeal.

As centuries passed and civilizations evolved, the rigid isolation of pure theocracy proved unsustainable in an increasingly complex interstellar order. Rather than collapse, the Templists adapted. Their spiritual absolutism was gradually refined into a moral framework capable of coexisting with broader systems of authority. This transformation led them into alignment with CentoriCore, where they were absorbed as a distinct but influential ideological pillar.

Within CentoriCore, the Templists became the custodians of doctrine, tradition, and ethical justification. While they no longer ruled solely by divine decree, their legacy endured in the form of oaths, rites, and moral oversight that tempered raw ambition with higher purpose. They remained steadfast in faith, but evolved from crusaders of belief into architects of spiritual unity—ensuring that even in an empire driven by order and power, the concept of the sacred was never forgotten.
